I agree with psycopk, mostly. The law is reqd to save women from abuse in relationships.

Men's fears of its misuse are without any basis. same as the alleged misuse of dowry laws. It is, in fact, men who use the system to get away, inspite of laws framed to protect women.

Lets not pretend India is US, and that men and women are treated equally in India. India is still a patriarchal society where man pretty much dictates what a woman should do. Which makes such a law more necessary.

On a related note, I made this post after the news on how more than 80% of rape accused in delhi are acquitted. It can't mean that 80% of these cases are false. if you think they are, you must be a patriarchal asshole.

If this law helps even one woman from an abusive husband, its worth it.
