Feel very sorry for the family and especially the very young kids. Equally -  really mad at this guy for essentially losing his life out of his own sheer stupidity and recklessness. On top of it he seems to be a very educated guy who ideally should have known better than jumping into a river without a life jacket.

Looks like the wife is working , I do not see a reason for 300k need.

Reddy is survived by his wife Vani, son Rohan Reddy, daughter Meghana Reddy and mother Kalavva. Vani, relatives said, was working with Reddy in the same firm.

Dallas Venkat Ram Reddy

Kamareddy: In a tragic incident, a man from Arepalli village of Machareddy in Kamareddy drowned in a lake in Dallas, US, on Saturday.

According to information reaching relatives here, Velama Venkatram Reddy (40), a software engineer working for a global IT company in Dallas, had gone for boating in a lake in Dallas along with friends. It is believed that he got into the lake for a swim and drowned. His friends immediately alerted the police, after which a search mission was launched.

The body was retrieved from the lake on Monday, with efforts now to send the body back to India.

Reddy is survived by his wife Vani, son Rohan Reddy, daughter Meghana Reddy and mother Kalavva. Vani, relatives said, was working with Reddy in the same firm.

His mother Kalavva had gone to the US two months back to participate in the housewarming ceremony of Reddy, which was held 15 days back. Reddy had plans to come to India a month later.

The brothers of Venkatram Reddy, who are living in their native village of Arepally, said they were shocked. Efforts were on to get the body back and to conduct the last rites at the village, they said.

Again she might not even be aware of this fund raising . Some over enthusiastic friends/relatives start this without even knowing if there is any actual need or not. Just seems to be trend these days.

He was really nice guy and he will be missed. Stop the assumption that he jumped into the lake. He slipped from a platoon. And yes he should have worn life jacket. It happened and none can bring his life back. Donate chese vadu evvadu questions adagadu. Donate cheyyaleni vallaki valla reasons vuntaayi. But, just keyboard vundi kada Ani chanipoyina athani abuse cheyadam is stooping to the new lows.

Again, his friends might have created go fund me. More than over enthusiasm I see their emotion. Friends are the people who are directly affected emotionally by his loss and might has missed the logic. Instead of constructive criticism, just abusing them is plain wrong. Either donate or not, it's your wish. If you feel someelse who deserves didn't get enough money raised, help them by publicizing it.

Just by assuming Ram has insurance and other sources of income don't pass on abusive comments. Just give him the benefit of doubt. This is how Justice and humanity works.

I apologise if I come across rude, but these days people are using gofund as scam.

I sincerely express my condolences and if his family is in genuine need for money. I'm sure many of us here including myself will contribute.
