Is USA done?

India is much more nimble compared to US where skilled immigrants are treated as criminals. It takes a global pandemic plus a travel ban for immigrants living over a decade to get their Green Card.

Salaries and lifestyle in India are attractive enough to to retain talent. Only problem is pollution which will start getting better with EV revolution. It would also reduce India's reliance on imported crude oil.

On the other hand, US faces shortage of people......Social Security wil fail if there aren't young workers to contribute.

Even if India has debt, it has lot of growth ahead to manage it. Average age of Indians is 28.5 while USA is 38.5.

I can understand that lot of people got hurt in India....but the India you left isn't the India that is right now and for sure its not going to be the same in about a decade.

US now has good demographics which is supported by young population, US does not requirement immigration like before, it needs the best and brightest not the mediocre ones which India produces

in simple, US still needs ones from IIT/IIM's/NIT/s but surely not anymore from Gangaram Technological University or Noor-Ul-Fitr Fakir university.

USA

US and India appear pretty similar, appears like a bell

India

compare the above with Japan and Germany, appears like an inverted bell where there is no more young population feeding the replacement of dying ones.

Germany

Japan

as the pay gaps gets closer between India and US, more people will find it easier to go back and have better career progression in home country than living on H1B for long time

so, anyone with 2016 PD can easily plan to go back to India with decent role. they will not go anywhere because they already have purchased home in US @3$%. they have nowhere to go

2016 PD folks have already waited for 7 yrs. and it will take >10 yrs. for their GC to come, sorry pandemics won't come every 5 years. they will not go anywhere because they are deep into the US life

with so many Indians with GC and declining labor market, H1 life will be very painful here in US. they should plan for exit while things are under control.

if one wants to go back to India, they can easily do so by planning 6 yrs. correctly. but anta planning early 30's lo tough

US has lot of debt and has not much growth left.

With average age increasing and immigrants being mistreated and the political system taking a long time to implement reforms....do you guys think that US has any future?

While India is just getting started....our political system...although imperfect....is implementing reforms at a rapid pace.

NRIs would probably start coming back in less than a decade.

What do you guys think? Any rebuttal?

If us is done then india and China is done too! These 2 countries growth is very much dependent on US

for an below average IQ person like me India is a heaven with all door - door deliveries available be it Swiggy , Porter, Ola , Indian food and indian people every where ..

Western countries suck in old age retirement due to loneliness and terrible healthcare support.. retirement homes are expensive..

US loo things sound cool if all going well be it health, job, family ... once we start getting health problems say after 50yrs or going in rough phase in family life , living in US will be kind of punishment is my opinion...

If one wants to experiment with early retirement in US/UK(unless u r top management) is practically not possible but india loo its possible...

Anyways to each his own.... yevari situation batti one will take decision to settle in any X country..

US doesn't have to pay its debt because it's in US $.

Reserve currency will change if US starts having demographic problem.

India already dealing in Rupees with its neighbors. China dealing in its own currency.

This was unheard of in 2016 when the above video came out.

Also the Debt doubled from there.

i remember 2006/07 lo kuda ilane annaru... next decade is india's ani... people will come back.. 15 years forward nothing changed.

only people who are coming back are those who got senior roles in product companies that can pay upwards of 1CR. many of those also holds US citizenship or at least are in a position when there want they can get a L1A and transfer back to US.

one thing that is changed is earlier people use to come to US (or any foreign country) just for money but now they are moving for a good quality of life.

Yes...it has been India's decade.

If you had invested in India in 2006/07, you would have been in India now.

A lot has changed in last 15 years in India....better infrastructure like Roads, Jio, digitalization, better medical facilities, airports, startup environment etc

On the contrary....what changed in USA?

On every livability index India is dead last, quality of life is one of the main reason majority of the people will never go back to India. The AQI levels itself may shorten your life span

USA is a high end technology, pharma mover on which the world is dependent upon, every freaking drug ftom vaccines to major deseases are licensed.

India is dependent on services revenue otherwise a trade deficit nation which imports more than it exports and it is not going to chnage majically. Unless you are at the top of the food chain you will lead miserable life and slog like a slave on 9-7 job

Agree that India's AQI is pretty bad....this is going to get much better with Electric vehicles.  EVs and Solar makes much more economical sense in India rather than in US. 5 years down the line India will be livable.

USA has high end tech and pharma just because it throws money around.

"The Pfizer–BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine (INN: tozinameran), sold under the brand name Comirnaty,[2][24] is an mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine developed by the German biotechnology company BioNTech. For its development, BioNTech collaborated with American company Pfizer to carry out clinical trials, logistics, and manufacturing"

India is catching up pretty quick---"India may become the third largest economy by 2030, overtaking Japan and Germany"

US has greater trade deficit than India
