CherryGaru
https://www.npr.org/2023/02/25/1159284378/economy-inflation-recession-consumer-spending-interest-rates Despite high inflation, Americans are spending like crazy – and it's kind of puzzling Something unexpected is going on in the U.S. economy. Inflation remains high, yet many Americans went on a spending spree last month, eating out at restaurants and shopping for cars. A drop in consumer spending would help to cool inflation, but it would also raise concerns about a recession. On the other hand, if spending continues to grow at this pace, it could force the Fed to raise interest rates even more aggressively to bring prices under control. "We estimate households to still have about ten months of spending power if they continue to deplete excess savings at the pace they have over the past six months," Wells Fargo economists wrote in a research note Friday
Popular Post Bears
These Economic principles are outdated now, There is no way you can control the consumer spending until and unless the unemployment rate goes higher. As long as the job market and the Economy is good there is no stopping and no recession. People have lot of money and increasing Fed rates won’t have a direct impact on consumer spending, It takes years to have direct impact going by current trend. Just chill and enjoy if you can afford and spend!! 1

ismartganesh
unless and until banking and manufacturing jobs take a hit, nothing is going to happen. best advise is to don't hoard the cash during the inflationary period. invest in real estate to beat the inflation.
