Telagas and balijas were never Kapus . Kapus are Reddys in Rayalaseema , nellore and Telangana . During British period , different telaga subcaste like turpu , telaga , ontari , balija , munnurwar , etc . consolidated using Kapu as a cultivator or landlord term and used that as their name . Reddys , actually belong to motati / Pakanati / pedakanti / kodithi / gudati / panta / bhumanchi / gone / neravati / velanati / desuri . They always had reddy as title and kapu as community , simply shifted to their own reddy surname as they had since 7-8 centuries . Reddy and kapu are used interchangeably . The latter ( reddy ) community was around 6 percent , but their population is believed to have declined to 4.5-5 percent now ( tg caste survey ) . Kapu would be around 15 percent plus in both states combined . Both are entirely different communities , have nothing in common .

Even in TG , the munnuru kapu community only backed him significantly . He won few seats in that community strongholds in some parts of Adilabad and Nizamabad . There is no way any other community will support their party . Last time , anti incumbency helped . This time , they are the incumbents as much as tdp . So , there will be no excuse if the government doesn’t deliver the super 6 schemes and also infrastructure across all districts . People are still facing unemployment and now even lost the timely welfare benefits under the previous government . Last time they used land titling issue , need to see what they come up with this time . It will not be so easy this time , as they will have to answer for all their failures . I am pretty certain Rayalaseema , Nellore , Ongole , Palnadu and parts of Uttarandhra and Godavari ( around 30 percent seats there ) will easily shift to ycp next time . The governance has just been horrible . Not one project has been grounded in Kadapa after these people came to power . If your governance is subpar , nothing else matters . These are not the days of people blindly voting irrespective of the government performing .
