Like I said earlier, Chinese imports are important for Indian businesses and this is just another example. Indians ade using more solar panels and usage is growing, It helps Indian business to sustain. There must be few hundred solar companies operating in India today solely depending on such imports. Indian manufacturing is not competitive for our present demand and someone has to fill in the shoes else all these companies will go bankrupt.

this is recent 2024 case of solar panels... The investigation was initiated by India's Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) in late 2024 (Case No. AD (OI)-24/2024), following complaints from domestic manufacturers like FS India Solar Ventures, Jupiter International, Tata Power Solar, and others. They alleged that cheap imports from China were causing material injury to the local solar industry through dumping (selling below normal value or production costs). On September 29, 2025, the DGTR released its Final Findings, confirming dumping had occurred with margins as high as 105-115% and injury margins up to 35-40%. The probe covered solar cells (including monocrystalline, multicrystalline, thin-film, and TopCon types) and those assembled into modules/panels, treating them as a single product for analysis. The DGTR recommended definitive anti-dumping duties for three years, to be applied from the date of notification by the Ministry of Finance. Duties were tiered: 0% for some cooperative producers (e.g., Jinko Solar and Trina Solar, whose module prices didn't cause injury), 23% for certain others, and up to 30% of the CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value for the rest. These duties aimed to offset the dumped prices and protect domestic producers from financial stress, such as selling below cost and higher-than-expected losses. The investigation noted that Chinese imports had surged significantly, with prices dropping sharply (e.g., by 55% in some periods).
