Greed has been ever present. But we mock reservations while being corrupt. I also opine that the scale of corruption is dependent on the social inequality spectrum. -

H-1B Wage Levels Explained – How Salary Decides Your Visa Fate in 2026
Tellugodu replied to Tellugodu's topic in Discussions
there are some rules to restrict the remote area abuse uncle. Guidance on Multiple Locations, Lack of Wage Levels Multiple Locations H1B Job: As per the DHS final rule, if the applicant’s LCA is listed to work at multiple job locations, then the employer must pick the lowest job level for the same salary across all locations. This ensures that they do not abuse the system by listing the job at a higher wage level in a remote location. No Wage Level Data: If there is no OEWS wage level data for some SOC codes, then DHS suggests following the practices of prevailing wage determination(PWD) to select the appropriate wage level. To ensure compliance, USCIS will closely review the Wage Level, Salary, Location, and SOC Code of the H1B registration with the petition, if they match. If there is a mismatch, they will send a denial notice as the wage levels and details have changed. Step 5 – No Changes to Wage Levels for Future Amendments, Extensions: In the future for amendments or extensions, USCIS will keep a close watch on the Wage Levels, Salaries, Location and SOC Code for the applicants so that employers do not take advantage of the loopholes by changing them to lower levels, lower wages or locations with lower wages and higher wage levels to game the system. If they find any violations, they would revoke the H1B Petition for fraud. -

Anna, what you are saying is anecdotal example among just your circle. But reality is in numbers. If India is so good then numbers will reverse on its own. But for now the numbers show ppl are ready to jump from India given a chance though it will continue to get better as India also becomes a middle income country. Till the below numbers adjust, more ppl will be leaving india. Of course rich ppl above the per capita will stay in India. Its just human nature. Indicator (2025 Projections) United States India Ratio (US vs. India) Nominal GDP per Capita ~$89,678 ~$2,937 30.5 : 1 GDP per Capita (PPP) ~$89,678 ~$12,100 7.4 : 1 Projected GDP Growth Rate 2.8% 6.6% -

Seen this post in reditt forum What's the point of doing anything anymore? About me: Graduated with a Master's degree in AI in May this year. Working at a small firm in the Midwest. Lucky to have a job. After the weighted lottery system gets implemented, I'll fall in the level 1 category (1 ticket). It essentially means I am not going to get the H-1B visa next year. I've been applying to other companies, but whenever I bring up sponsorship (in screening calls), I immediately get rejected. No one even wants to evaluate international students fairly anymore. I have also been working hard on my skills. But considering the bleak scenario for international students (weighted lottery + bad job market), I am wondering if it's even worth it to work hard on skills. Is anyone having similar thoughts at the moment? Would love to know how you are trying to cope.
