Lot of NRIs are actually losing money by working in US

Agree. I left for better life as well. There was huge difference between India and US back then. Now the gap has been reduced. US has been becoming poor. US doctors, mechanics, dentists wherever you go they try to fleece you of your money. They have to pay their rents. Atleast in India, you can find doctors with much better experience and integrity not because they are better people than those in US...its just that they have very less rents to pay and have lot of patients from where they get money. Doctors understand Indian body and have better experience in India because they see more people and are not scared all the time of malpractice lawsuits. People in my circle got health scares and my close friend thought he was going to die(He got better just be taking a tablet for 7 days in India). There were many false diagnosis by the medical equipment here in US. They initially refused to go to India thinking its going to be even bad there. But they all had darn good experience by Indian doctors. Even I was told that I "might" have cancer after looking at lab reports. An Indian doctor over a video call dismissed it after just looking at me....not even the report. He said he is 100% sure... I can double check at another lab if I wanted to be sure. I did and he was right. Medical tourism is at an all time high from advanced countries. Decency in USA my foot. Its a sinking ship. Look at their debt levels and countries leaving Dollar. Brics dumped 39Bil in US Treasuries last month. FED has now resorted to buying Treasuries as noone else wants them. UPI destroyed VISA and Mastercard in India. Now India is helping Africa setup its own UPI. Not saying India is better. People are brainwashed into thinking US is great after living here, just as they were brainwashed into thinking that India was the best before they came to US. Not saying India is better. You need to have a minimum of 60k-1 Lakh in passive income which is very easy for people who lived in US. Cashflow matters more than properties. -

An interesting story of my friend and his two siblings (twins) who are 1 year younger than him. Never got married and started with good IT jobs. Moved to Bangalore, and all 3 were making good money. Bought a good apartment. After a year this apartment appreciated 100%, they rented this and bought another in a posh locality which had a lot of amenities. They also have around 10-15 acres of land in Andhra. Very fertile land. Two years into the job, the guy left the job and pursued a philosophical and philanthropic path. Both the girls continued the job for another 5 years. Lands in Andhra and the 2 apartments in bangalore appreciated a lot. During this 6-7 yrs time they bought lands left and right in and around hyd which were sold for peanuts. Finally all 3 left jobs by year 9. Guy after year 2, 1 girl after year 6, another girl after year 9. They wanted to do agriculture. They sold 3-4 acres land in andhra and bought 20 acres in bangalore outskirts. They also bought a huge villa for 2 cr. The villa is worth 7-8X and land in blr also same. Their worth is probably more than 100 cr now. They sold some of the plots in hyd and bought a 25 or 30 acre land 100 km from hyd to setup their own meditation center. Never chased anything in life. They lead a simple life. Wake up at 5 AM. Go to sleep by 8 PM. Busy rest of the time putting together plans for their meditation center. -

Neigbors over there are very good. GO111 areas are medium range....they are not as expensive as regular lands as there are restriction on the floors and the percentage of land on which you can construct. This makes it a good place for lawn style living. What I understood from these posts was that in 20s, there was not much inertia to move to US. But once we have families, inertia is the main problem. We think up all kinds of excuses to not move. -

You can get a good lawn and walkable streets in GO111 areas. You can grow food all year round as the weather supports it. In addition to that, you get all the other advantages of being in India. -

Many things cannot be done from here unless you have good support in India.....especially on H1B. In most cases, parents aren't usually savvy and don't understand their view point. And regarding me to be full into money, its your opinion....not necessarily the truth. I study various topics like Finance, psychology, history etc. So I think from various angles. Thats the reason I keep posting about EVs and AQI which you conveniently ignore. Going back to India also means kids spending more time with their grandparents who live longer and healtheir lives in the presence of their grandkids. Its also our responsibility to take care of our parents. Regarding peace, for me peace is where my family and friends are. I have friends in both India and US. In US however, I have some nearby withing 5 minutes. But rest are scattered all over. You also get a good support system in Hyderabad from maids to doctors. This frees up lot of time to pursue our passions without worry. If you think that you will be in a rush in India even after retiring, its your psychological bias. And you are feeding that bias and not looking at all the other benefits. Some of them even got a decent house constructed in GO111 with US style backyards and growing their own food. -
