Lot of NRIs are actually losing money by working in US

It is pretty natural that people will try to defend the decisions that they make for themselves. In this case - it the decision to remain in the US or leave the US. In my particular case and in my view - money is not the be all and end all of my existence. I give due importance to money but it does not occupy too much of my time. I am content with what I make and whatever savings I have. Perhaps I should focus more on investments but the bottom line is I am not going to lose sleep over it. What I also do value are the following: 1) Cleanliness 2) Civic sense 3) Corruption - I had not given a single bribe in my 13 years of living here in the US -as a non-citizen, GC holder or as a citizen. And I had dealt with the government at every possible level - Federal, State and local. 4) Buying a property and not worrying about someone else occupying it with fake ownership documents. Sometimes when I go for a walk around my neighborhood - I have to pinch myself - it is so beautiful, peaceful and quiet. And this is a pretty simple suburban neighborhood. This is not to suggest there are no cons of living in the US. But the pros far outweigh the cons for me. At the end of the day - hand on your heart - you have to be genuine with yourself. Are you happy living in the US or India. In my case, considering every possible scenario - living in the US is a much better prospect than living in India. And similarly, I know people who are happy leaving the US and returning to India. So, it really boils down to your motivations as to why you choose to live in either place as long as your honest with yourself. The moment you start seeking "external" validation for your decisions - you are already second guessing your decisions.

  17. Ayurvedic doctors can now perform surgeries in A.P. As per the orders issued by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, Ayurvedic students can perform 39 general surgical procedures and 19 for diseases of eye, ear, nose, throat, head, and oro-dentistry; he directs officials to introduce relevant postgraduate courses and equipment immediately at the Vijayawada Ayurvedic college Published - December 23, 2025 06:48 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA The Hindu Bureau Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav. Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav has granted approval for Ayurvedic doctors, who have completed postgraduate courses in surgical studies and have proper training, to perform operations independently. According to a press note from the department on December 23, Tuesday, the decision is a step forward in the direction of integrating Indian traditional medicine with modern treatment methods. The Minister’s approval is in line with the Indian Medicine Central Council (Post Graduate Ayurveda Education) Amendment Regulations of the year 2020 and the guidelines issued by the National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine. As per the permission granted by the Minister, Ayurvedic students can now perform 39 Shalya Tantra (general surgery) procedures and 19 Shalakya Tantra (diseases of eye, ear, nose, throat, head, oro-dentistry) procedures. The 2020 Regulations state that the PG scholar of Shalya and Shalakya shall be practically trained to acquaint with as well as to independently perform specified activities so that after completion of their PG degree, they are able to perform procedures independently. Some of these surgeries include surgical procedures related to infectious diseases, removal of damaged tissues caused by accidents, treatment of wounds and suturing, treatment for piles and **** fissures, removal of cysts, cataracts, and tumours, muscle-related treatments, and skin grafting procedures. Later, the Minister held discussions with AYUSH Department Director K. Dinesh Kumar and other officials on the next steps to be taken on this matter. At present, in addition to Dr. NRS Government Ayurvedic College in Vijayawada, there are two private Ayurvedic colleges in the State. The Minister said postgraduate courses in Shalya Tantra and Shalakya Tantra should be introduced immediately at the Vijayawada Ayurvedic college, and that appropriate measures be taken to provide quality education. The Minister also suggested that the necessary operation theatres and surgical equipment be provided in adequate quantities for these courses. He later expressed happiness that the decision to permit the students to perform surgeries has been taken, as he hoped it will integrate ancient Indian medical practices with the modern methods. https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/andhra-pradesh/ayurvedic-doctors-can-now-perform-surgeries-in-ap/article70429189.ece

  23. Would Chief Minister or any politician dare to go for surgery done by any of this Ayurvedic Doctor? What kind stupidity is this? Govt's support to this ideocracy puts poor and common people in danger because they are the one with no money and in belief that govt is promoting it and it be might genuine. I hope govt goes back on this decision.
