You are mixing up religion with cultural things.. Religion is a personal thing and it differs from person to person. But cultural things should be promoted among new generations.. Eating Ugadi Pachadi for Ugadi or pongali for Sankranti is as cultural / traditional as much as eating Turkey for Thanksgiving.

You misunderstood. I do spend lot of time with kids. But try to keep the religion crap away from them. Telugu...as long as they can speak its fine. Problem with many parents is that emphasis on Telugu writing and other religious stuff is leading to less physical activity and play time with other kids. This is detrimental to childs development. We focus on developing their passion and on being a producer rathar than a consumer, reading books etc.
