Its silly to not have dual income. There are so many jobs which get done in an hour or two. There are many jobs where you side idle for most part. May not pay the top dollar but Dollar/hour worked is pretty good.

You should consider your age and length of stay in US. If you are born in 1960s and staying in US since 1990s what u said is right. otherwise its not that easy, of course unless you are a stock broker
