I have a bad habit of entertaining dumbfks. Only because I don't want others to get influenced by them. "Tesla has significantly reduced its cobalt usage in electric vehicle batteries, with many models transitioning to cobalt-free Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries. As of 2022, nearly 50% of new Tesla vehicles produced use LFP, which are cheaper, safer, and eliminate the need for cobalt. This reduction improves supply security and addresses ethical concerns. As of 2025, over 70% of Teslas have LFPs" LFP batteries neither have Cobalt nor Nickel. LFP has become a standard...even Indian EVs like Mahindra and Tata have LFP batteries. Mahindra Xev9e and Be6 have LFP (BYD Blade Battery) The amount of Lithium used in a battery also has been reduced. There has been Sodium Ion breakthrough last month and they are actively being installed in EVs as we speak. They have ZERO Lithium, ZERO Cobalt and guess what? ZERO Nickel. Solid State batteries will be here in next couple years and they are even cleaner. All these batteries last very long. Much longer than the life of the car. The batteries would then be removed and used for other purposes.
