“Homeo is largely based on potentization, which is greater dilution beyond the avagardo number would still result in anticipated restoration of health, without a pharmacological explanation. It's philosophically dynamic/energy restoration of health and vitality. It's unlikely to have heavy metals stuff. At maximum you can call it "placebo", which in itself is a powerful pehneomenon.” if it doesn’t have a pharmacological explanation then it is called psuedoscience. Placebo effect can help you brain release chemicals which might make you feel better temporarily but at the end of the day medicine has to do its thing to solve the medical problem you are having. And the claim that “its philosophically dynamic/energy restoration of health and vitality” is just a verbal jargon which doesnt have proper scientific way to prove it. If you have, I would like to read it. If you see the real-life cases of heavy metal toxicity due to homeopathy you would understand how unregulated and dangerous this industry is. If you have time try to read their core books. These are the core principles of homeopathy "Like Cures Like" (Law of Similars): This foundational principle asserts that a substance that produces specific symptoms in a healthy person can, in a highly diluted form, treat similar symptoms in a sick person. Do you know how stupid this logic is lets see how homeopathy applies this logic to some actual medical cases "Poison Ivy causes itching and red rash so this drug can be used in skin treatment with similar itching and red rash.” That’s homeopathy for you. And there tones of reasons why itching and red rash occur on skin. See the founder of Homeopathy’s malaria drug argument see how absurd it is. "Minimum Dose" (Law of Infinitesimals): Homeopathic remedies are prepared through a process of serial dilution and "succussion" (vigorous shaking). Practitioners believe that the more a substance is diluted, the more potent it becomes, while eliminating toxic side effects." Seriously giving the more diluted dose means the more powerful is the medicine? And do you see the word”believe”. The medicine is based on practitioners’ belief. And do you know how diluted some of these ingredients are. Just look at the dilution chart centesimal, millesimal etc these dilutions are a joke. even a school going kid can understand the more diluted the ingredient the less powerful. Basic chemistry. and there is no proper regulation how these are prepared and some practitioners are known to give high dose of heavy metals in homeopathy medicines breaking their core principles. there are cases of liver toxicity due traces of heavy metals in homeopathic medicine. So the myth that homeopathic medicine is safe because of diluted effect is wrong. Which proves the point that how unregulated this industry is. Read the research paper below. "We retrieved 25 homeopathic remedies (Fig. 3), of which 15 were found in sufficient quantity for chemical and toxicology analysis. We identified 93 unique compounds in 15 homeopathic remedies, including supposed ultra-diluted formulations on analysis. A total of 156 compounds, including repeats, were identified from 15 samples. The total number of compounds present in a formulation ranged from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 23. The most commonly identified compounds were 2,4 di-tert-butyl-phenol nd acetaldehyde, which featured in 7 (46.7%) samples each. Antibiotics, including gentamycin and paromomycin, were identified in 6 (40%) formulations. Homeopathic formulations were also found to contain glucocorticoids (betamethasone), benzodiazepines (nordiazepam), phytosteroids (diosgenin, sarasapogenin), and a variety of industrial solvents such as benzene, butane, aldehyde, and carboxylic acid derivatives and sulfhydryl compounds. Potent synthetic opioids (normethadone), glucosides, glycosides, phenols, terpenes, heavy metal compounds [detectable arsenic (0.18 ppm), cobalt, chromium, zirconium, manganese, lithium, titanium dioxide, and vanadium oxysalts] were also identified on chemical analysis. Three liquid formulations contained high ethanol levels (15.8%, 18.3%, and 19.5% v/v), and 1 also had traces of methanol 0.001% v/v) (Fig. 4). The results of the exhaustive analysis are shown in Supplementary document 3, http://links.lww.com/HC9/A159." https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9916127/ https://www.primescholars.com/articles/drug-induced-liver-injury-dili-secondary-to-homeopathic-drug-chelidonium-majus-and-literature-review.pdf These are just couple of researches, if have time try search online and you will find so many liver and kidney induced injuries because of Homeopathy. This is how unregulated this industry. This just a sample and there are many cases that doesn’t come into light. "Individualization: Homeopathy treats the whole person rather than just the disease. Remedies are tailored to an individual’s unique physical, emotional, and mental constitution." this theory hides under the good old placebo effect. if a person is suffering from cancer placebo effect may help for a while but the reality is actual treatment needed based on scientific evidence. A placebo does not cure the underlying biological cause of a disease it only helps relieve pain or stress. if a patient goes to see one of these practitioners how costly would that be in delaying the treatments like cancer. Vital Force: Homeopathy operates on the belief in a "vital force" or "life principle"—an invisible energy that maintains health. Illness is viewed as a disruption of this force, and remedies are intended to stimulate it back into balance. If it is an invisible energy, how do they know it existed in the first place. How did they measure it. No one knows what this vital force is. It can’t be measured because its not a physical reality, But they claim it existed. If you ask them, how do you know? the answer is our father of homeopathy Samuel Hahnemann wrote it. Is that enough of evidence? Treatment of "Miasms" Concept: Hahnemann believed chronic diseases are caused by underlying, deep-seated inherited or acquired "miasms" (often translated as a taint or infection). Goal: Rather than suppressing acute symptoms, remedies aim to eliminate these deeper, underlying causes "Hahnemann’s Conception: Hahnemann proposed that chronic diseases are rooted in these miasms, which are not just infections, but deep-seated, often inherited "negative forces" or morbid disorders of the vital force" They don’t have evidence for invisible vital force and are talking about morbid disorders of that vital force. And they give medicines to it. The Doctrine of Drug Dynamization (Potentization) This is the process of preparing remedies through a series of serial dilutions and vigorous shaking (succussion). Homeopaths believe this process awakens the latent "spirit-like medicinal powers" of the substance while removing its toxic effects “Awakens the latent spirit like medicinal powers” seriously and the toxic effects just disappear? How? These core principles which has “pseudoscience written all over it”. Some of the medicines in homeopathy and their ingredients “Blatta orientalis (derived from the Oriental cockroach), that use cockroach extract as a primary ingredient. These remedies are traditionally used to address various respiratory conditions.” “Cimex acanthia (Bedbug): Prepared from the bedbug. It is indicated for certain types of intermittent fevers and pain” Honeybee (Apis mellifica): Prepared from the whole live honeybee. Red Ant (Formica rufa): Prepared by crushing whole live ants. Ladybird Beetle (Coccinella septempunctata): Made from freshly crushed beetles. Wasp/European Hornet (Vespa crabro): Derived from living insects. Colorado Beetle (Doryphora decemlineata): Prepared by covering crushed live beetles with alcohol. Head Louse (Pediculus capitis): Prepared from the live insects. Common Flea (Pulex irritans): Uses the whole living animal. Other Living Invertebrates Spiders: Many remedies use whole live spiders, including the Black Widow (Latrodectus mactans), Spanish Spider (Tarentula hispanica), and Cross Spider (Aranea diadema). Leech (Hirudo medicinalis): Prepared from the tincture of the living animal. Jellyfish (Medusa): Uses a tincture of the living animal, typically taken in summer. Starfish (Asterias rubens): Prepared from the whole living animal. River Crab/Crayfish (Astacus fluviatilis): Uses the whole living animal. nosodes are a specialized group of remedies prepared from diseased tissues, microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi), or morbid, broken-down products of human or animal origin I am all in if they extract a chemical from one of these living beings and used as medicine if they have proper scientific method and proof that it cures the disease. But none of these medicines follow this approach. Just check how these preparations are done. How unscientific is their approach to a drug is. Don’t forget to read “playing possum” treatment. It RCT trials costly that doesn’t mean you can release these products in the market hiding under the natural remedies and risk human health who doesn’t have basic knowledge how these medicines work, and they would blindly believe it because it has GOVT backing. If they can prove that there is scientific evidence to the medicine why wouldn’t pharma companies line up because they can mint money from this medicine. Look how much revenue the homeopathy medicines are making yearly, can’t they spend some amount on RCT’s and prove that their medicine works and shut the science community mouths once and for all. I personally don’t care if its Allopathy or Ayurveda or Homeopathy medicine as long as it is evidence-based medicine. Which majority drugs of ayurveda and homeopathy lack. Also, there is a unique method on how RCT trials for Homeopathy itself, which are fundamentally flawed. This is just the tip of the iceberg I covered. I will write about Ayurveda separately because I have some personal experience with one of my family members, who injured his liver with these ayurveda medicines, and this is from one of the biggest ayurveda hospitals. I will write about it when I have time. Meanwhile if you have time try to read “The Organon of the Medical Art by Samuel Hahnemann” also “charaka Samhita, susrutha Samhita books that are available online. Don’t take my word just read those books. There are lot of absurd things in those books you dont need have a medical background or pharma background to understand and these books are taught as current syllabus to ayurveda and allopathy students who would become ayurveda practitioners.
