Driver walks away from 200mph Lamborghini crash

A driver miraculously walked away after his 1,900bhp Lamborghini Gallardo crashed at over 200mph.

Richard Holt was attempting to break the standing mile world record at America's famous Texas Mile event.

He had just completed a 200mph-plus run and had released the braking parachute when his orange Lamborghini flipped, spiralling multiple times before coming to a stop. It is thought strong crosswinds caused the car to leave the track.

Amazingly, Holt walked away after being cut free from the wrecked Gallardo. The crash was caught on tape and seen online in a Gary Javo video, which you can see below.

Holt's Underground Racing Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera has two turbo chargers attached to its 5.2-litre V10 engine, boosting power to well over three times that of the standard car. It is fully road legal in America.

In March Holt posted an amazing 250.1mph verified top speed at the Texas Mile, a little short of the current 254mph world record set earlier this year in Miami by a tuned Ford GT.
