I think the rains are even worse than it was in 2015.. Nungambakkam itself received 30cm in the last 24hrs according to keaweather blog

Good news is rain will stop in 6 to 10 hours , 2015 had rain for 7 days 

Nellore , Prakasam are going to be hit worse than chennai

looks like Nellore mandal received 17cm rain last night until 8.30 in the morning.

Parents didn't go out , so don't know outside situation. Only had 1 hour powercut , so it's not as bad for now.

Nellore won't have flooding issues like chennai because Penna can carry 3 to 4 lakh cusecs downstream. Low lying colonies will have water for a few days

Indian cities are badly designed and will always have flooding issues. wide roads that act as catchment for the rain water, and narrow drains that can't hold all that water trying to flow in.

infrastructure in Indian cities are a joke. Even in the richest parts of the city. Everybody forgets the drainage part.
