UK IMMEGRATION HELP PLZ,,,,,,,URGENT

I am in UK on PSW VISA...I will b finishing my 10 years continuous stay in UK on Nov 5 ,2010.(8 years on stdent visa and 2 years on PSW status).Now,the question is can I apply  fr PR under the LONG STAY section...?
My frnds r saying that home office wont consider the PSW period fr the long stay...i am a bit confused...plz help,...

I am not sure...but I heard that student visa doesnot to be counted while ur applying for PR..

only 2 yrs of PSW will be counted and if u hav a acquired a job which are showing ur payslips amount of 18k for a yr..ull get a work visa and whn contd for 5-6 yrs ull be eligible for applying PR..

not sure but want u to know buddy..

2007 nunchi kastam ayyindhi baa.. antaki mundu motham mana vallu anta almost Student visa ne.. Ippatila kastam kadhu appudu... Cheap kuda...
