that's not how gender transitions work, nor how sports federations work..

and even if they did, it'd make the entire sports economy more open to taking perfromance enhancing substances, which is an overall positive for humanity.

Why would someone change their gender/sex just to compete and win in sports? 

The issue here is with transgender women demanding that they be treated like women in all areas, which is not realistic.. May be the transgenders need a separate sports category so that they don’t overtake the women category.. obviously women feel that they cannot compete with men, who are physically more stronger than women..

that is not what they are demanding at all.

sports is a made up competitive endeavour by itself. plenty of restrictions for any gender to compete in sports. the demand of transgenders is to create fair entry rules and enforce them across the discipline. some of the sports have been able to do that.

transgenders cannot be a separate category, since there are not one group. there are multiple types of transgenders, and other types of participants.

the best solution to this is to ban all professional sports and have them only as hobby activity.. or to allow performance enhancing substances in sports to nullify any advantage people have over each other.

rest of the discourse around this seems pointless and lame, and backward looking. Sports cannot remain frozen in time while society moves forward.

the number of transgender women in top competitive sports is not even in the double digit percentage.

there's no research that claims that transgender women have any special advantage over equally highly trained female athletes, after 2yrs of hormonal treatment - which is the norm to declare a transgender athlete as acceptable in a female field.. given they satisfy other criteria regarding their testosterone levels.

you cannot change your gender today, and start competing from next month... It'll take you a minimum of 2yrs of continuous treatment to even have a shot at competing.
