NTV's semi porn short movie in trouble

The commissioner of police, Mr A.K. Khan, has filed a complaint at the Nampally court against NTV's 'hot favourite' programme, an assortment of hot scenes from films.

Around seven persons including the NTV chairman, Mr Narendra Choudary, were named in the complaint filed under Cable Television Networks Regulation Act 1995.

A district monitoring committee comprising of two social workers and a college principal filed a report with police terming the programme as obscene. "It is spoiling the minds of the youth," said a police officer.

The cop said most channels had stopped telecast of similar programmes after the warning issued in June 2010. "However NTV continued the programme by changing the name," he said.

"Only U certificate films can be shown on TV as per the Act. Numerous such clippings from A certificate films are shown together making it a type of semi porn short movie. Even children watch it," said Mr T.V.K. Reddy, former regional director of the Central Board of Film Certification.
