BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY - 25 years - fhuck congis

On that day of december 1984, independent Bharat recorded its biggest industrial tragedy. It eventually was termed ‘Bhopal Gas tragedy’. Not many know what happened that fateful day. I should, first of all, thank and credit ‘Boston.com‘ for all the photographs which highlight the tragedy which our brethren went through and are still facing.
Large amounts of water seeped into a tank in the ‘Union Carbide’ factory in Bhopal on 3rd Dec.. That water reacted with the 42 tons of methyl isocyanate inside, raising temperature and pressure so high that it began venting massive amounts of gas made up of methyl isocyanate, phosgene, hydrogen cyanide and more. The poisonous cloud swept through neighborhoods near the boundary wall, waking sleeping residents with burning throats and eyes, killing about 4,000 people in the first few hours. Over the next quarter century many people died. Govt. estimates say its a meager 15000, but i have all the reasons not to trust them. This is constantly termed as world’s most deadly industrial accident. People still are grappling with the aftermath of the event even after 25 years.
