Sharmila invites 'bro' to son's wedding

After a long time, YSR Telangana Party president Y S Sharmila went to the residence of her brother and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to invite him to the wedding of her son Y S Raja Reddy.

Sharmila, who flew down from Kadapa to Gannavaram airport along with her husband Anil Kumar and son Raja Reddy, drove straight to the Tadepalli residence of Jagan.

She spent half an hour with her brother and sister-in-law Bharati Reddy and invited them to the engagement ceremony of her son, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on January 18. The marriage of Raja Reddy with his girl friend Priya Atluri, will be held on February 17.

What transpired between Sharmila and Jagan during the half-an-hour meeting is still not known. However, she did not stay at their residence for long, but left for Hotel Novotel, where she spent some time before leaving for New Delhi later in the evening flight from Vijayawada airport.

Speaking to reporters at the airport earlier, Sharmila made a cryptic comment before the media, saying: “I have come to invite my “bro” to the wedding of my son Raja Reddy. Nothing more than that.”

Sharmila and her family members were received by Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, who is contemplating joining the Congress party once she takes over the reins of it.

“I shall join the Congress only after she joins the party. Whether I am given any responsibility in the party or not, I shall make efforts to strengthen it. The Congress is still strongly rooted in Andhra Pradesh. The high command will take care of all the others who want to join the party in the coming days,” Reddy said.
