Saw that story and instantly thought about my flight last year when we hit unexpected turbulence over the Rockies—nothing like a blowout, but enough to rattle everyone. I flew with alaska airlines a few times since then, and while no airline’s perfect, they’ve been decent about safety updates and keeping passengers informed. Last trip they even handed out vouchers for a short delay without anyone asking, which isn’t something you see often these days.
