Visa stamping question

i have visa stamping till Aug 2024,  changed employer in 2022 & have new h1b approved till 2025 , next month going to india for 2 weeks and will return before 6 months of visa expire...now immigration is digital at the airport so if i get i94 till aug 2024, do i need to step out of country again to get new i94 active or by default new i94 will be active after Aug 2024.

stamping is good vayya....since it is up to August..even if you are not plannign for stamping on this trip

 

at POE , show new 797 , so that they will issue i94  until 2025...

 

sometimes they dont ask.. but show new 797 compulsory to the officer.

same thing happened to me in 2021 bro. My stamping was valid till Aug 14th 2021 and had my new i-797 (same employer) approved and stars from Aug 15th. I came back in June. I did show new i-797 but the i-94 is only updated till Aug 14th 2021. They wont update the i94 till the new i-797 as u r coming before its active. The system will show i-94 only till the old stamping. But thats fine, ur new i-94 gets active on the day its supposed to, but wont be updated in the system u see. Dont worry.

Nice, but na new h1b i94started long back kadha still that will take preceding then old i94 kadha.

Yes, u r right.

When coming back show new 797 to the officer, they will give I94 till that date. This is very normal and nothing to worry about. 
For any reason if the officer does not accept - let it slide and get I94 till 2024 date. However keep a reminder and approach the nearest CBP office close to that expiry date and show new 797. They will update I94.

Antha digital emi kadu..as @Aquamanbro mentioned, it is all still manual data entry. Just no paper I-94. Ideally you should get I-94 until your new I-797 date. If not, you can reach out CBP with in 60 days (may be 30). Most of the PoE have email address to reach out for l-94 corrections.

When you return from India, if your I-94 is issued till August 2024, you might need to step out and re-enter to get a new I-94 reflecting your H1B approval till 2025.
