Chandni, 21, her husband Chandan Kumar Singh, 23, and their daughter died on the spot.

Chandni and Chandan were from the same caste. A police officer said their families, however, had been against their wedding because they were also from the same village and neighbours and was considered inappropriate.

North lo ( few villages  in Gujarat) konni places.. they don't marry within their village.  It is not like marrying outside their Caste /community. Their original concept is to marry outside their village to avoid genetical issues for the future generation( similar to south tradition - don't marry within the same gothram.

Kaani in the above case, it is extreme to kill.
