similar incident for an airbnb in Atlanta in 2017. We arrived at 11 pm, lock code not working and host not answering. We could see someone was inside the house and left to get a hotel. Got a refund minus the booking fees

It can put you in a difficult spot. If you make a booking with family n  friends esp. during holidays, what if you dont get alternate arrangement.

We were six people and next morning drive to smokies. that was a long weekend and for some reason everything was booked. Found a hotel 40 miles away at 1 am. Luckily no kids at that time
