Sidhu...Sidhaarth Roy Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Kathmandu: Nepalese police have busted an international currency racket and arrested nine people, including two Indians and one Pakistani from the capital.The nine suspects were arrested from Sinamangal area near the Tribhuvan International Airport with counterfeit Indian currency notes worth Rs 40 lakh, according to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police.Those arrested were identified as Mokhtar Ansari and Ishamuddhin Miya, both from Bihar, and Abdul Bahab, a Pakistani national.The six Nepalese arrested were Birendra Shah, Aftab Alam Ansari, Chokat Mahato, Yunus Ansari, Binod Khatri and Tek Bahadur Karki.The police filed cases under counterfeit currency law against them in Kathmandu district court today even though they were arrested last week.India and Nepal share nearly 1850-km border, which runs along three sides of Nepal.Pakistan's spy agency ISI has used the porous border to push counterfeit currency into India.
