I believe they are here, not nudging us in anyway intentionally but their mere presence steers humanity in directions of unnatural choice.

if we are a civilization never touched by aliens and evolve the next 10K years, its obvious we can track et life outside earth, and then we do what? obviously we be the observers of all these planets for multiple decades and identify earth like planets we can move to if earth needs to be vacated. Study life there, prepare for adversities when we move, prepare the new planet for our arrival and many other steps.

if our presence can disrupt that planets natural life, so does our life when aliens are visiting our planet.

Im sure if we can live here on earth, there are at least handful civilizations out there that have identified our planet as their plan B and are already here doing their analysis for decades if not centuries. Nothing is imminent, but we will have first contact when they decide.

many ppl think that aliens coming to us will do the same to humanity as europeans coming to americas or australia and replacing the indigenous ppl . 

i feel creating space habitats is much easier that colonizing another planet.  planets are very common....so creating habitable atmosphere on an accessable planet will be easier for space faring aliens. 

i feel that your scenario is not that likely.

Not quite.. europeans vs americas were few hundred years apart in their life styles and both were barbaric. A species that is 100 times evolved than us would approach us differently, like humans today would approach a newly discovered island species.

Planets are very common and so should be life although not as common looking at our own expeditions so far. Creating a habitable atmosphere is the most difficult aspect because of numerous things that make a planet habitable for a particular species. On a relative scale, finding another earth with identical atmosphere is easier than creating such atmosphere.

travelling interstellar distances is even more difficult then. thats why i said "space faring civilizations" with advanced tech and energy.  for them , to make a planet habitable is not such a difficult task using autonomous machines etc.  travelling all that distance just to colonize is such a waste compared to this. making space habitats is even more cheaper.

one thing is going to happen for sure if they make a contact with the public. It will destroy all the religions and caste system. Humans will be united.
