2024: Shankar Mahadevan and his fellow members from Shakti made India proud at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Shakti, a collaboration featuring John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan, V.Selvaganesh, and Ganesh Rajagopalan, was awarded the Grammy Award for their work, The Moment. The album has won Best Global Music Album. Shankar and his team members were present at the Grammys to accept the award. In a video gone viral, Shankar was seen thanking India for the win.
