Hyenas are the real janitors of the ecosystem... They eat away the carcasses including the bones(given they have one of the strongest bite forces among mammals)which helps the ecosystem from infections and diseases. 

Coming to Lions hating Hyenas because they are competitors in their kingdom also they steal the hunt sometimes from lions.
