capital one wants to acquire high value credit card spenders from discover, it means capital one card layoffs can be expected within 1 yr, capital one know this already, so they dont need 2-3 yrs to figure it out

I don't think it is not that straightforward. Account information, Authentication mechanism, rewards, balances, statements avanni merge cheyyali. It takes at least couple of years to complete all.

But since its a big acquisiton, it will take a while to integrate both companies. 

It will atleast take 18 months or so , So Dont panic.
