They returned not because of DDT banning. They returned because they became resistant to DDT.

Open and read your first reference link  again. Resistance was just in few sub populations and not across all populations. Even then amount of dose used varies across resistant species.

I get how frustrating it can be dealing with them. It’s like they show up uninvited and just take over. The good news is that there are ways to get rid of them without breaking the bank. Have you tried heat treatments or those DIY sprays? They can work if you’re thorough. I’ve also heard that vacuuming your mattress and washing everything in hot water can help a lot.
