What is capitalism?

Is it economic system? Or is it an apparatus that we can use to make money for ourselves and take more money from others…?

I think, at its heart, it rewards those who work hard, but it also rewards who are willing to take advantage of others...?

People consider Adam Smith as father of economics and capitalism..but according to him also..."wealth will be trickled down from capitalist class to working class"..

but in reality it never happen..

as per John Locke..."All wealth is the product of labor"...is also a big joke...

Capitalism is an economic system where private individuals or corporations own and operate businesses for profit. In this system, the means of production are privately owned, and market forces determine prices and production.

Capitalism favors merit and hard work. Yes if you are already rich you have more means to deploy that wealth to get even more results. If you don’t know what to do with the wealth it can go away in no time, see lottery winners for example.

So far, capitalism won in terms of creating wealth compared to other forms.

in my opinion the people who say those things like it never trickles down are poets/philosophers type people who don’t work for wealth, so end up coming up with lines like that. Such people would probably not do well in a non-capitalist environment too.
