Aadhar for NRI kids passport extension?

My kids passport (Indian passport) is expiring, and I started the process to file for renewal. But they are asking for Aadhar card for my kids and my kids don't have one. Both me and my wife have aadhar though. 

• Has anyone of you filed for passport renewal lately without aadhar?
• Is Aadhar mandatory for filing? Even for kids?
• Any other suggestions??

I don't have adhaar bro but was able to file and get it this was 3 years ago dint think it was mandatory field

Their last passport was in 2019, then they didn't ask..

I renewed my passport last year and they did not ask for any Adhar,

Adagaru anna Aadhar. Already application start chesava ledha just reading somewhere?
