Is it normal for people to discuss political things in office meetings?

i tried to divert topic but looks like he wants to know whom I support

office lo ONLY work related things but people try to poke and make you talk and you have to end up lieing which I did

Very abnormal. Very rarely someone brings up something happening in india at lunch time, but not a biased view on a political party. These are sensitive topics. Even with friends, we rarely discuss. Even if we discuss its just opinion and not a debate.

Politics is no1 reason that could divide people or friends even though it does not mean anything to them. Edo aaratam/tapana. 

Manaku baaga close ga unte. ..Sometimes we joke or tease. But dont take to heart. We do this with people who are like us .. chill or will take it easy ... not the serious types...
