These are "good" but high-end restaurants. For desis they are primarily for special occasions...except Rania I tried all. All are minimum $50+ per person..easily reach $100.

I hear ya. We mostly switched to occasional takeout at a few mom-and-pop shops (phone order and pickup) that are still maintaining pre-covid+20% or less prices.
90% cooking at home - Costco bill is 1500 for me.

I’m not from DC, but I’ve had some great Indian food around the world! As for DC, I’ve heard great things about Rasa and Masala I’m not from DC, but I’ve had some great Indian food around the world! One spot I highly recommend in terms of overall dining experience, though not Indian, is Pont Dining Room in Sydney www.pontdiningroom.com.au. The food there is amazing, and I had a memorable dinner where they served this incredible seafood dish that had so much flavor. As for DC, I’ve heard great things about Rasa and Masala Art—both have been highly recommended by friends.Art—both have been highly recommended by friends.
