TRS provoking people to lay down lives: Geeta

Hyderabad, Nov 1: The Minister for Information and Public Relations, Dr J Geeta Reddy, has alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was unnecessarily provoking the people in the name of Telangana movement and making them give up their valuable lives.

Talking to the media here on Monday, Dr Reddy said that it was wrong on the part of that party to play with the lives of innocent people who could be easily aroused with sentiments and false speeches. Assuring the people that the Congress government was committed to the Telangana cause, she urged the people to achieve their cause through a planned and peaceful movement. She also said those who hastily give up their lives would neither be doing justice to the Telangana cause nor their parents who had pinned all their hopes on them.

Stating that the TRS was indulging in destructive activities, she said that no agitation had succeeded with destruction. She said that the TRS that was claiming to be the champion of Telangana was losing its credibility very fast because of such questionable activities.

Stating that she was also in favour of separate Telangana State, Dr Geeta Reddy said that she was also fighting for the Telangana State in the framework of her party's discipline. She has reminded that it was she who had first demanded for the Second States Reorganization Committee.

Earlier in the day, the TRS workers tried to attack the minister's house. Police have arrested the party activists as they tried to barge into her house.
