Ace director Bala has roped in famous model-turned-actress Madhu Shalini to play a prominent role in Avan Ivan. Madhu Shalini is known for her brilliant roles in Kithakithalu, Oka Vichitram and State Rowdy in Telugu and Sixteen, Palaniappa Kalloori in Tamil.

Avan Ivan will be a full-fledged commercial film with the definite aim to make a profit. Starring Arya and Vishal in the lead roles, this film will be completed within six months; Janani Iyer is one of the heroines.

Avan Ivan is produced by AGS Entertainment. Yuvanshankar Raja scores the music. Announcing the launch of Avan Ivan recently, Bala, who won the best director award for his Naan Kadavul at the 56th National Film Awards, promised more humour in Avan Ivan, a story about two siblings.
