Tyrannosauraus_Rex Posted April 7, 2024 Report Posted April 7, 2024 I remember a very old bridge only for trains -probably was built by the British. I remember my parents with my brother and I - we used to take a passenger train from Kovvuru to my grandfather's place near Annavaram. Was very affordable and accessible since it had stops wherever there was a railway platform. Must admit when I was a kid - I used to be scared till the train crossed the bridge since this bridge did not have any side railings. I was told to throw some coins into the bridge perhaps for good luck. One of the most nostalgic moments - the rhythmic clanging of the sound when the train switched tracks was music to ears. I believe they stopped using that bridge quite a few years ago. After that most of my train journeys were on the legendary rail plus road bridge. I am not sure about this bridge as to where it is. But this is extremely serious. Hopefully action is taken quickly and on a timely basis. 1 1 Quote
dewarist Posted April 7, 2024 Report Posted April 7, 2024 This is a new bridge, hardly less than 10 years. Sad about this one having problems so soon Quote

First bridge was the Havelock Bridge, rail bridge that was decomissioned a while ago. Second bridge is the road plus rail bridge. Thid is the arch rail bridge that was opened more than 20 years ao. What new bridge is this that is less than 10 years old? Is this a 4th bridge on Godavari? Quote

Have not been there in a while, so never realized there was a new bridge that was built. Hope they fix the issues soon. Quote
