If you want longitivity then go for mac.

Now a days windows good config coming under $800 ,  totally personal choice.

499$ macbook mini M2 does a good job, you can buy a 27 inch 4K monitor

Every windows laptop I had became slow in 4 years and I used to purchase all 1500$+ latops, finally got a Mac and going strong since 4 years

Hard disk backup pettuko that will be the onlything I advise as sometimes mac updates can screw up your laptop similar to windows and you may lose data, so data backup at regular intervals is a good way to go
