Israel became independent in 1948; from 1948 to 1992, we chose not to have an Ambassador and an Embassy in Israel. Why?

Decesions are taken from time to time based on India best interest. Hen brain WhatsApp univ grad will not understand.

India wanted Arab states to support New Delhi and not Pakistan. Not having relations with Israel was India’s offer of solidarity with the Arabs.

Govt establishes relations based on best interest at that point of time. During India formative years to stop flowing of Arab funds into pakistan they took some decision. Over decades geopolitics changes. Allies becomes enemies, enemies becomes allies and accordingly other govt changes their strategy in the best interest of their nation.

Comparing current geo political scenario to cold war era is foolishness.

Till 1980s-90s Arab league was against Israel supported by soviet union. Now many arab countries are allied with Israel along with America. So Indian govt also changed its strategy.

Israel didn’t have anything to offer for a long time… the world was sympathetic to the Palestinian cause bcoz they were occupied… 

After Israel became a good supplier of defense equipment and security products, they became more and more acceptable to many countries like India..

Israel has been India's strategic defence partner since a long time .. In International relations, India's & Israel's relation was quoted as "Israel is India's mistress" as Israel helped India with defence equipments and also during Kargil war when US denied GPS to us .. But India never openly talked about it's association with Israel .. for obvious reasons .. however, now even our govt. is acting boldly and being loud about its inclinations in geo-political platform without any hesitations!!
