Is this comes under hit and paripovadam?

I am driving straight and opposite no cars so took left at a free way, sudently one car came and almost try to hit me, technically he has free of way but dont know where he hiding all of suddden vachadu. 

so I put hard brakes and he went on to curb top and stoped, I thoughht all ok and went from there, 

but after 15 mins when I went back to scene he called cops and they are noting down the incident and also tow truck came to take away the car, 

Now is this comes under hit and run? we didnt phsucally hit though, what are my options? do cops come ot mhy house howsoon? I dont see any cameras around though.
