Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah is already facing a lot of criticism from his own cabinet colleagues and also his rival camp belonging to Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for his intemperate behaviour.

Yet, he does not appear to control himself even in the critical circumstances like floods and rains. On Thursday, Rosaiah unnecessarily lost his temper when farmers and people’s representatives brought to his notice the loss caused by floods at a review meeting held at Kakinada. When a farmer’s representative was explaining to him in detail about the heavy losses caused to farmers due to floods and the reluctance of the officials to implement crop insurance scheme for all the farmers, the chief minister disrupted him in the middle and shot him down.

“There are certain norms for extending relief to the affected farmers. We cannot extend assistance to the farmers who have not paid premium for the crop insurance scheme. You should remember that we are not running an “anna satram” (free food hotel) here to give assistance to all,” he said.

It is these remarks which would project Rosaiah in bad light. We all know he is an old man and does not have patience, but being in the chief minister post, he should maintain some restraint
