ప్రముఖ సంగీత దర్శకుడు ఇళయరాజా (Ilaiyaraaja) ‘మంజుమ్మెల్‌ బాయ్స్‌’ (Manjummel Boys) చిత్ర నిర్మాతకు లీగల్ నోటీసులు పంపిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. తన అనుమతి లేకుండా ‘గుణ’లోని పాటను సినిమాలో వాడారంటూ సదరు నోటీసుల్లో పేర్కొన్నారు. దీంతో ఇళయరాజా లీగల్‌ నోటీసుల వ్యవహారం మరోసారి చిత్ర పరిశ్రమలో వార్తల్లో నిలిచింది. ఈనేపథ్యంలో చిత్ర నిర్మాత షాన్‌ ఆంటోనీ స్పందించారు. ఓ న్యూస్‌ పోర్టల్‌కు ఇచ్చిన ఇంటర్వ్యూలో మాట్లాడుతూ.. కాపీరైట్‌ కలిగిన రెండు మ్యూజిక్‌ కంపెనీలను సంప్రదించి వారినుంచి అనుమతి తీసుకున్న తర్వాతే పాటను వాడామని స్పష్టత ఇచ్చారు.

అయితే, ఈ విషయంలో ఇళయరాజా వాదన మరోలా ఉంది. ఆ పాటకు మ్యూజిక్‌ కంపోజర్‌ కావడం వల్ల తనకే మొదటి ఓనర్‌ రైట్స్‌ ఉంటాయని అంటున్నారు. తన పనికి సంబంధించిన ప్రతీ మ్యూజిక్‌ బిట్‌పైనా హక్కులు తనకే చెందుతాయని చెబుతున్నారు. మంజుమ్మెల్‌ బాయ్స్‌ చిత్రబృందం తన నుంచి ఎలాంటి అనుమతి తీసుకోలేదని నోటీసుల్లో పేర్కొన్నారు. గతంలోనూ ఓ సినిమాలోని పాటను మరో సినిమాలో వినియోగించడంపై న్యాయపరంగా వాదోపవాదాలు నడిచాయి. మ్యూజిక్‌ కంపెనీలు ఎన్ని సంవత్సరాలైతే హక్కులు కలిగిఉంటాయో అన్నేళ్లు వాటికే చెందుతాయి తప్ప, ఆ పాటలను కంపోజ్‌ చేసిన సంగీత దర్శకుడికి ప్రత్యేకంగా హక్కులంటూ ఉండవని న్యాయస్థానం ఓ సందర్భంలో అభిప్రాయపడింది.

He might be legally right and it's good if he wins.. otherwise there's no protection for art in India.

Yes, he is only living on shows all over the world....concerts are well organized but one can see he is very particular about arrangements and stubborn...old school serious show

he is too possessive of his art however not pragmatic once it’s sold it’s not his child anymore unless a legal agreement says so… let hims come up with a blockchain based music platform

Yes, he is only living on shows all over the world....concerts are well organized but one can see he is very particular about arrangements and stubborn...old school serious show 

how about the singers who sang those songs aren't they have some rights too. 
its a collective collaboration; mari akkada music kottina orchestra, choir vellandariki rights leva -- Paisal ichcham gaa ante; veedu kuda producer daggara paisal tesukone kada music kottindi, if at all the owner of the music-- it should be producer. 

ippudu nuvvu oka company lo work chestu, valla resources meeda you found something, do you claim patent rights to it or its the company who owns the rights.
