if the case is filed and warrant is issued, then he can't - I think he gets flagged at airport. If you hire top lawyers, you can get bail but they'll ask you not to fly abroad. 

If no warrant is issued, best bet is to run away. 
 

Serious reply only: one of my friend did this --- He landed and learned that a case is filed (lucky for him, the SI called their family to let them know - probably to extract some money). He took the next flight to china from airport (yes china as that's the next international flight) and escaped. HIs family is not that fortunate - they were arrested.

If there is no warrant, ask him to fly out quickly. Fighting 498 A requires patience and strong will and not giving into the pressure of relatives. It will take some time but will be resolved.
