He thought he can win elections on his name which only works until some extent. He thought there was anti-incumbency for MLA's and changing them would be the solution,

but the anti-incumbancy against Jagan was far more than the anti-incumbency against MLA'S .

Example : Nellore MP and Narsaraopet MP which effected the entire Nellore and Narsaraopet areas

He did some good work during Corona time and upgraded some schools and initiated port's construction.

That is the reason you still see 40% of voters voting him even after last minute land titling effect.

The alliance of BJP+JSP+TDP is too strong if you add the numbers arithmetically and one chance to PK struck the chord among people and top of that off course there is severe anti-incumbancy because of lack of capital and no development

Schools better than CBN'S time, People will always remember the first act done by a Govt after coming to power

In Jagan's case people will remember the demolition, In YSR'S case people remembered the initial signing on free power scheme

He played a dangerous game and failed. 

 

If he were to win, then 

1) All MLAs won just because of Jagan and the MLAs position will be just to take salary and do nothing. Work as Jagan's employee

2) No opposition as they tried everything and they have nothing else to try for next elections. 

3) Since he will be the ONLY leader, IAS, IPS will have no hesitancy to do whatever Jagan asks even though it is against rule book.
