Anta Assamey Posted June 8, 2024 Report Posted June 8, 2024 Joining the outpouring of grief across the country over Ramoji Rao’s tragic demise is the actor-couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh. The actors share a special relationship with Ramoji Rao as they were launched in the film industry by him in 2004 with the film Tujhe Meri Kasam. Tujhe Meri Kasam was produced by Ramoji Rao’s banner Ushakiron movies and directed by K Vijaya Bhaskar. K Vijaya Bhaskar had also directed Nuvve Kavali for Ushakiron in 2000. Nuvve Kavali and Tujhe Meri Kasam are the Telugu and Hindi remakes of the superhit Malayalam film Niram (1999). Expressing his sadness at Ramoji Rao’s passing, Riteish mentions that “Genelia and I are actors today thanks to his belief in giving chances to newcomers”, while stating that his legacy will live on forever. Genelia echoed the same sentiment by writing, “thank you for your belief in newcomers, in a time they weren’t even welcome.” 1 Quote
