Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar addressed concerns regarding the handling of the actor Darshan Thoogudeepa case, asserting that it is standard practice for law enforcement to work discreetly in such high-profile matters, citing security considerations.

In a statement today, Shivakumar highlighted the operational norms followed by police, especially in cases involving public figures, emphasising the need for confidentiality to maintain security protocols.

When asked if any minister has attempted to influence the aforementioned case, Shivakumar said, "No one has approached me about it. I don't have any information on this."
