100% correct. Someone who understands Mahabharatham the why it is narrated will not consider Karna as good person. He definitely has some good qualities, but he is egoist and stood with adharma..

Every person good is remembered on his death bed .. kanisam karnudu gurinchi vinu .. 

 

He has done good ... But dead because of wrong side and silent on adharma...

Karna is a good person but with bad people/company. Karna's story by itself states that even if you are a good person if you are friends or engage bad people in your life, you will end up being a bad person and face consequences in the end.

 

Slightly different but the same conclusion even for Bheeshma.

if you are dragging Arjun down what is the point of God (krishna) standing beside him and helping him. This questions the whole concept of God and hindutva

arjundiki bhagavanthudu ratha sarathi, jenda pai anjaneyudu, indrudu tandri, gandeevam world's best bow with him

whereas karna started with lot of disadvantages and could still shake the chariot where krishna himself was on it , akkada karnudu entha balavanthudo chepadu gani manchoda chedoda ani chepaledu//

The concept is god will stand by you and will lead you to victory. No matter how much resistance you face in life. Resistance can be human in Mahabharat or it can be with things like Laziness and Ego. 

 

It is up to everyone to understand it.

Karnudu dharmam Dhuryodhunudu vaipu vundi anukunnadu....

oka manchi vaadu taanu chesedhi manchidhi ani nammi velthaadu even if it's wrong from other side.

Draupadi issue lo even bheeshma was silent because they were thinking in terms of agreed terms and conditions instead of whether it's ethically correct or not. 

With respect to 5 villages.... he was lending support as a friend who helped him in post rather than who has legal right to govern. oka friend priceless help chesinappudu I have to stand by him no matter what aney ethic ni believe chesaadu...

 

Also in kurukshetram.... most of the kings of smaller kingdoms were on kaurava side because of the agreements of allaince between dhuryodhana and that kingdom..... Those who thought pandavas have ethical right threw the support to the other side. 

 

in short.... mahabharata is where people are grey on whatever side you are on. there is no straightforward white or black instances. Rajaneethi, Dharmam, Nyayam, Chattam are not always on one side..... It's split between opposite parties always in Mahabharatam...

Karna did not betray his friend duryodhana, even when he knew that the opposition had his brothers. 
 

This feeling is very relatable to common folks. A lot of folks don’t veebhisana for the Same point of view. It is the feeling of people against betrayal
