Chadigarh was built by land acquisition and its relatively small area, about 10,000 acres and that was done in the 70's and you can imagine the cost of land acquisition then and almost every penny invested in Chandigarh was borne by the central government.

Western cities chusi Indian cities kuda alae vundali anukunte evademi cheyaledu, Asian cities are under stress and building a planned city, land vundadu budget vundadu and its not a characteristic of Asian contient.

Saying so, existing cities ki suburbs develop cheyadam, satellite cities is the answer.

NCR is the best example, that's how Indian cities will decongest.

emo bro... Hyd ki vellalante bhayamayitadi... Kukatpally nuni DSNR ki ravalante evening time edupu vastadi aa traffic ki... I felt Amaravathi will be a relief even to hyderabad... kontha mandi vellipovali if Amaravathi comes to fruition...

If chandigarh is your parallel, chadigarh city la central and state govt employyess     oka 40-50% vuntaru...its a very small city. But with in 50 kms of chadigarh, there are another 4-5 major cities and danivalla rich and affluent andaru chandigarh la vuntaru...have you  heard of anyone working out of chandigarh ?

Amaravati develop avuthe Hyderabad kaali avutundi anukunte pichitaname...Kukatpally region will have more population and commercial activity than en entire city of amaravati..
