A family reached out to me to help get a job for their son who is on OPT. I told them the situation here and mentioned market is bad, recession, job losses esp IT and a lot of people in bench. Even for jobs that are available OPT is the least preferred status ani. I told them not to put pressure on their kid and the job market is good in india ... But that guy was like .. pls dont say this to my son ... he is already thinking of coming back and says he has a good life in hyd .. He kept asking me "you can look for a job .. he is like a brother for you .. I am sending from my savings, etc etc .. ".. I felt emotional blackmail ... I got annoyed after 2-3 calls. He is not ready to listen and accept reality. Wants son to earn $, probably anticipating a fat dowry, etc. Felt bad for the son .. good guy .. Quote
