First things first - the so called "joke" is extremely distasteful and borderline dangerous. Felt really sick at that pathetic attempt.

To play the devil's advocate even if you believe in the supremacy of freedom of speech - you also have to think practically - living in India - the cultural mores are different to the West - and you should be prepared to face the consequences and backlash.

I am not exactly sure what is going to happen to him legally - I gather that he is the son of an IAS officer - so beyond the dust of social media ire - I doubt if he actually faces any jail time.
